Better all the time
Another quick music post. This is a track that I just keep coming back to when coloring, and it was a bit of an influence on the end of the world dream in chapter 1:
It brings to mind…have you seen the Andrei Tarkovsky film Stalker, from 1979? It makes me think of the major setting in that movie, the Zone. A massive, empty area, an old factory abandoned and swallowed by nature, silent, peaceful, but with a weird, unsettling air of menace. When I listen to this track, I imagine the characters from the movie returning years later to the Zone, only to find it…changed in some way. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.
But still, there’s an air of “cozy apocalypse” there, isn’t it? Not a blasted ruinous landscape, per say, but…something else.
Give it a listen, it’s really beautiful, yet chilling, especially when the distorted guitars slip in.
