Everything must improve.
So have you read chapter 2 yet? What did you think? I’m already really deep into working on chapter 3, and will hopefully have it completely drawn by the end of this month and fully colored not long after. I’m working hard to make it the best work I can do, trying to take each page further than the one before.
If you haven’t seen it already (since I already through up the placeholder for the chapter), here’s the cover to it:
I’ve noticed while working on this one that, so far with these covers, Ninel is always falling/floating, and her face is always at least partially obscured. Chapter 4’s cover will break that, she’s not even gonna be on it.
I posted before already about the model sheets I made to help maintain consistency. In the further pursuit of producing better work at a more efficient pace, I’ve been doing a lot of studying up on Photoshop tricks and things for when I’m coloring. I bought this book, Hi-Fi Color For Comics, and have learned quite a few things from it, though I’m having issues getting their plugins to work from the disc that it comes with. I’m sure I’ll figure that out.
It’s still time-consuming work, but I’m really enjoying it and I’m putting everything I’ve got into it. Here’s a recently finished page from about midway through the chapter:
Again, if you’re reading this, and you enjoy the comic, I REALLY encourage you to tell others about it! Link it on Facebook or whatever other social networking thing you’re into. Please? I’ll love you forever if you do.
That’s it for now. Back to work.
