I think coloring is the hardest part of this thing. It’s also my least favorite thing to do, next to scanning the pages. The above image is a panel from page 5, and after a few hours of work, I’m STILL not done with it yet. It’s getting there, but no, still not complete. It also doesn’t help that this is the one of the most detailed panels in the book so far.
I was never terribly good at shading, I’m still figuring it out as I go. I was never too great with colors too, but I think I’m getting better at figuring that out at least. I’m trying to keep things largely uncomplicated, hopefully with each page I finish I’ll get quicker and better at this.
At the rate I’m going, my aim is to TRY to have chapter 1 mostly completely colored by the end of this week. I probably won’t get there, but it’s okay if I don’t. Every little bit counts. I won’t be putting the finished pages up until I’m absolutely certain they look good.
At the same time, work has begun on chapter 2 as well. I’m getting quite a lot of work done, yes.
Again, the first chapter will go up this month. I’m really excited about this. I can’t wait for this thing to begin.
